White Russian

White Russian

A creamy, indulgent cocktail that's both simple and luxurious. Consisting of vodka, coffee liqueur and cream. When served over ice, the layers of the dark coffee liqueur blend with the smooth cream, creating a rich and balanced drink. A popular choice for those who enjoy a dessert-like beverage with a kick, and it has a velvety texture and a sweet, slightly coffee-flavored taste.

Course: Dessert, Drinks

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces vodka
  • 1 ounce Kahlúa or other coffee liqueur
  • 1 ounce heavy cream
  • 1 large square or sphere ice cube

Method

  1. Add the vodka and Kahlúa to a rocks glass filled with a large ice cube.
  2. Top with the heavy cream and stir.

Notes

If you’re able, avoid, using crushed ice or ice shards from a standard freezer’s ice maker, as they melt quickly and dilute the drink. Instead, use a larger or more dense cube.
Using large ice cubes always elevates cocktails, making them feel fancier and more elegant. The larger cubes melt more slowly, keeping the drink chilled without diluting its delicious, creamy flavor too quickly.
