Gin and Tonic (G&T)

This classic cocktail is made with gin and tonic water, served over ice and garnished with a lime wedge. Known for its crisp and refreshing taste, this simple yet sophisticated drink is a staple at bars and gatherings worldwide. Perfect for a warm day or a casual evening, the G&T is a timeless favorite.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 oz gin
  • 4 oz tonic water
  • Ice
  • Lime wedge or slice for garnish

Method
 

  1. Fill a highball or any tall glass with ice.
  2. Pour in 2 ounces of gin.
  3. Top with 4 ounces of tonic water. Adjust the amount to taste.
  4. Squeeze a lime wedge into the drink, and then drop it in.
  5. You can also garnish by adding a lime slice to the rim of the glass.

Notes

Gin choice: The flavor of your G&T can vary significantly depending on the gin you choose. A classic London Dry gin is a popular choice, but feel free to experiment with different types. I like using flavored gins to give it extra flair!

Tonic water: High-quality tonic water can make a big difference. Look for brands that use real quinine and natural ingredients.
  • Fever-Tree is always a nice option, offering a variety of flavors like elderflower, Mediterranean, lemon and grapefruit. They come in adorable 4-packs of glass bottles. I find that the grapefruit tonics are even enjoyable on their own or for mocktails if you are looking for a zero-spirit treat.
Ice: Using plenty of ice helps keep your drink cold and prevents the tonic water from losing its carbonation too quickly.
