Nutty Irishmen Shot
The classic Nutty Irishman Shot is a smooth, velvety dessert shooter made with equal parts rich Irish cream and sweet hazelnut liqueur. It tastes exactly like liquid Nutella or a spiked hazelnut latte. You can serve it cleanly layered or quickly shaken.
Prep Time 2 minutes mins

Ingredients
Method
Method 1: The Layered Shot (Visual Wow)
- Pour the Base: 3/4 ounce of hazelnut liqueur directly into the bottom of a standard shot glass.
- Float the Cream: Hold a cocktail spoon upside down just inside the rim of the glass, barely touching the surface of the hazelnut liqueur.
- Slowly Pour: Gently trickle 3/4 ounce of Irish cream over the back of the spoon. It will sit cleanly on top of the clear amber layer.
Because hazelnut liqueur is slightly less dense than Irish cream, you can float the cream on top to create two distinct, beautiful layers.
Method 2: The Shaken Shot (Smooth & Chilled)
- Chill the Shaker: Add a handful of ice cubes into a cocktail shaker.
- Combine Liquors: Pour both the hazelnut liqueur and the Irish cream directly over the ice.
- Shake Hard: Close the shaker tightly and shake vigorously for about 10 seconds to fully chill and incorporate the cream.
- Strain and Serve the blended, frothy mixture cleanly into a shot glass.
Shaking the ingredients blends them into a completely unified, frosted cream shot that goes down incredibly easy.

Variations to Try
- The Irish Coffee Upgrade: Want a full-sized drink instead? Pour 1 ounce of each liqueur into a coffee mug, fill it with hot black coffee, and top with whipped cream.Â
- The Extra Kick: Add a third layer or a splash of Irish whiskey (like Jameson) to balance out the sweetness and add a warming, boozy punch.
