Ingredients
Method
- Pour the Green Layer: 1/2 ounce of green crème de menthe directly into the bottom of a tall, clear shot glass. Ensure it does not splash up the sides of the glass.
- Float the White Layer: Hold a cocktail bar spoon upside down over the shot glass, placing the tip just above the surface of the green layer. Slowly trickle 1/2 ounce of Irish cream over the back of the spoon. It will rest cleanly on top.

- Float the Orange Layer: Rinse or wipe the spoon. Hold it upside down just above the new white layer. Very gently pour 1/2ounce of G rand Marnier over the back of the spoon.
- Serve Immediately while the lines are sharp.
- Drink it in one swift gulp to taste all three flavors blending together.
To successfully layer this drink, you must pour the ingredients slowly in order from heaviest to lightest.
Notes
Pro-Tips for Perfect Layers
- Chill the Ingredients: Put all three bottles in the refrigerator for an hour before pouring. Cold liquids are denser and layer much more easily without bleeding together.
- Substitute for the Top Layer: Grand Marnier is standard because its sugar content makes it stable, but you can also use Irish Whiskey or Cointreau mixed with a drop of orange food coloring for a punchier kick.
